Netball 2008
Netball is the largest winter team sport for girls at ANI. It promotes high levels of fitness, improved ball skills and a strong sense of teamwork.
Here at ANI we have 11 teams. Each team has a maximum of 12 players.
We play in the Three Kings Netball Association competition which is held at Mt Roskill Intermediate each Saturday through terms 2 and 3. We rely on the coaching and managing of teams by parents, teachers and volunteers from our local community. We are always on the look out for more help, so if you are interested please contact me at the email address below or through the school office.
Games on a Saturday are held between 9 and 10:30am. Girls are expected to be at the courts half an hour before their first game is due to start; this enables them to carry out a thorough warm up and to strategise with their team.
We also have four teams (the top two year 8 and year 7 teams) entered into the Tuesday night league at the Auckland Netball Association in Mount Wellington. Games run between 4:15 and 6pm.
The weekly draw for the Saturday games is emailed to coaches and managers. It is also available in digital form at the blog below. The draw for the Tuesday night league can also be found here
Both competition draws are displayed in the window of room 8.
We will also be sending a top team to the NZ AIMS National Sporting Championships in Tauranga from 7th -12th of September.
