Note to Board Chairs and Principals2011 School Term Dates
After consultation with the education sector, the Minister of Education has agreed to adjust the timing of the 2011 third and fourth school terms to accommodate the final games in the Rugby World Cup 2011. The change will mean a slight lengthening of terms one and two and a shortening of term four. The overall length of the school year will not change. Dates for 2011 will be:
The change means that Labour Weekend will fall on the last weekend of the school holidays, and will be the likely date of the World Cup final. Further details will be provided as we work through the impact with the Ministry. Why make the change?
